
| What is this Pottery? Boleslawiec Pottery has been made for many years using the same process. It began in Germany in the 1800's where it was known as "Bunzlauer". Poland is where it is made today, using the same process as they did over a century ago. Using a white clay base, each piece is hand stamped by qualified artisans. The pottery is fired in ovens over 1350 degrees. Using a lead free glaze, allows the pottery to be safe for microwave,oven ,and dishwasher use. It is safe ~ does not contain harmful substances |
| So what does "Unikat" mean? "Unikat" is the Polish word for unique. Each piece is started and finished by the same artisan and their signature is placed on each piece.
